Love them or hate them they are here with a vengeance at the moment. We first fell in love with a fashion collaboration when 15 years ago we set our alarm at 4am so we could be the first to get our hands on the new range from Kate Moss for Top Shop. Around the same time came Madonna’s collab with H&M, then Alexa Chung for Madewell (think J. Crew), then Rhianna for River Island….the list goes on. Before we get lost in our own fashion nostalgia we need to come right up to date. So 2022 has already seen a number of fashion collabs, some that will only ever make it onto our lust list and not our wardrobes because of the hefty price tag, and some collabs that are just plain baffling, but brilliant.
We are only half way through 22 (give or take a month) and already we have seen some amazing collabs, but the names we think you might recognise the most include Kanye West teaming up with Gap, Adidas with Gucci (prices rumoured to start at £155 for ankle socks), and Louis Vuitton and Nike who brought us Air Force Ones.
Crocs have been reinventing themselves over and over again working on a plethora of projects but the collab that has completely and utterly brought a smile to our face is the Greggs and Primark collab. In February the eleven items of clothing sold out within hours of being launched, and in some locations the items of clothing were then reportedly turning up on ebay with price tags of eight times over the original price.
The second Greggs/Primark collab is on its way with 21 pieces this time, launching in Primark stores today, 5 August. Who knew the fashion pull of the steak bake? Get them while they are hot.
